Holden is Autumn. The season of his story is complex—it isn’t sun, and beach, and simplistic happiness like summer; sometimes it’s devastatingly sad. You might not find Holden and Nessa to be the most lovable. I can’t change them though because they are parts of me—to change them wouldn’t be honest. You don’t always love every facet of yourself. The way to fix that isn't by pretending everything is fine, it’s by talking it out and healing the broken bits. Bear with Holden and Nessa, their arcs are long, and development for every character in the series extends all the way to the fourth book.
Please note: This is a character-driven family drama with romantic elements, not a traditional romance. Some books in the series are intentionally heavier with less spice as the characters navigate grief and trauma.
