Kristen reads the synopsis below

I made this audio for accessibility. I'm partially blind and have dyslexia, so I know how helpful it can be to listen instead of reading a long block of text. I had to relearn to speak after brain surgery, so my speech isn't perfect, but it's my real voice, and I wanted to share it with you. Feel free to listen or read, whatever works best for you.

The Healing Season is a single story that is broken into 4 books, each book spans roughly one season and tells part of the story from a different perspective. The series is a romantic drama that follows the McNally family—3 adult brothers and their mother— during the most difficult year of their lives. During the year, they cope with brutal tragedy and heart-wrenching loss, yet somehow they grow and find love despite it all.

Each family member embodies a season and each book in the series is primarily told through the eyes of that season's character. As the seasons change, the plot evolves: Summer is bright, hot and sweet, Autumn is thoughtful and sad, Winter is dark and devastating, and Spring is beautiful as everything begins to regrow after the harsh months that preceded it.

Follow the McNallys as they heal from a tragedy they never fully grappled with while learning to love and accept themselves and each other.

Should The Healing Season
be your next read?

These books may not be appropriate for all readers. Make an informed decision that is right for you. Here are some of the hard themes discussed in my books, not every book in the Healing Season will have all of these themes, but these hard topics will be discussed at times. Here is a scale of how often/in depth/severity/descriptive each topic gets, in my own personal opinion.

Romance/Spice

The books themselves have trigger warnings in them so if you happen upon these books in a more traditional way, you would be forewarned. If you just randomly found this website and wanted to order my books, I felt it was only fair that you should have a content warning as well. If books were rated like movies, I would give them a light R rating. Just to be perfectly clear, none of the hard topics I touch on are done gratuitously, every difficult topic is part of the plot and part of the healing journey of my characters.

Note for Extra Emphasis: The Healing Season is not a traditional romance series, it’s a contemporary family drama about overcoming life’s highest hurdles and learning how to love yourself in times of stress. While each book includes a romantic arc and does contain mature, spicy content, the romance is part of a larger story about family, grief, pain, healing, and growth. Some volumes are sweeter, some are much heavier, and some — like Winter — are intentionally heartbreaking with less spice as the characters navigate tragedy. If you’re looking for a light, spicy, couple-focused romance in every book, this may not be the series for you. If you’re looking for a deeply emotional, character-driven journey with the McNally family that will make you laugh, cry, and fall in love along the way then welcome home.
